
Isam Sabbah
Prof. Isam Sabbah is an experienced researcher in wastewater treatment with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a Scientific Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Dr. Sabbah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology Engineering at the Braude College of Engineering and a senior researcher at the Institute of Applied Research- Galilee Society. He was scientific director of the Galilee Society’s research and development center (2005-2007), design engineer at Goldshmidt Ltd. and environmental engineer at Shefa-Amr Municipality. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Sabbah received the Miriam and Aaron Gutwirth Award for Academic Excellence (Technion), the Lord Goodman Scholarship (British Council) and the prestigious Maoff Award (Higher Education Council). His research interests include the fundamentals and application of physicochemical processes and the development of immobilization technologies for advanced, energy-saving engineered biological systems and transport of nano-contaminants and microplastics in natural and engineered aquatic systems.
